I've attended the Rogers auction a couple times. They usually have a good variety of birds, but don't expect them all to be NPIP tested before you take them home.

They have been busy this spring, I hear. They also have a lot of rabbits through there.

Well, I'm not necessarily going to go to buy a flock, it's nice to look around, and see what's there, and I thought it'd be a good place to meet up with others if there was an interest.

Yes, there's some risk to it, but I don't and won't live in a bubble. I wouldn't wear clothing or shoes there that I'd expose my birds to, and I'd be careful about any contact. IF (and that's a big if) I bought any birds there, they'd have a LONG quarantine, but life's a risk.

I'd like to have a look see though, so I'll still post a couple days before I go and maybe Ohio folks would like to go as well... or not.

Hello everyone!
My name is Cindy and I live in Portage County in Franklin Township (between Kent and Ravenna). I have three girls in 4-H who raise rabbits and we decided to add poultry. I fell in love with the chicks at TSC and bought some for myself.

DH is busy trying to build a coop and I am consuming everything on this site! I will be posting pictures in a few days of some chicks that we are just clueless about what breed they are.

I work out at Rogers sometimes, helping in-laws out at a concession stand, right there by the sale barn. They often have MANY chickens there, along with all sorts of other farm animals. They have been VERY busy this year, the sale before easter was huge.

Hey Ohioans! I'm in Highland co. 1 - 1 1/2hrs. from Cin., Dayton, Columbus in the sw part. Have been on byc for a little over a year. Have had chickens for almost 2 yrs. I love this site! I have learned so much and everyone is so helpful!

Hi dshappychick! Your co-ordinates sounds like mine; I live in so rural a place, People need to triangulate big cities ona map to figure out where I am. They ask "what are you near?" Ummm, nothing. But I'm between Dayton and Lima. More specifically, between Greenville, Piqua, and Celina, but even those cities are too small for some people to be familiar with!

hello all from New Hampshire,Oh. just for the record i have to triangulate too lol i'm between lima, bellefontain, and wapakoneta. just wondering if there is anyone else in my area and if any of you have ever been to the auctions held in Lima or Degraff.the one near Lima is the second weekend of every month and the one in degraff is the first weekend.i've been to lima or "Max's" and am going to try degraff in June.Max's was awesome young hens for between 2 and 4 dollars and chicks from 10 cents on up lots of variety and any age.i'll update you on degraff after i check it out. well sorry to ramble just love this site.

I have a co-worker who brings roos to Degraff. Says it's dirty and gross, but she gets good money for her birds, $7-10 for an older crossbred cockerel.
