Does anyone know where Spring is? The weather this year is driving me crazy! Luckily none of my birds on pasture have died. Usually by this time of year I have all my early garden done, but it's either too wet or too cold.

Tell me about it! This spring has really sucked. I have 200 strawberry plants that have been in the garage for 2 weeks that I need to plant. Hopefully I can get my fruit trees in the ground this weekend though......between showers......The 10 day shows rain EVERY day too. It's going to be mid May before I can turn any ground.

I'm glad your birds are holding up ok. I'm glad I didn't get any yet this year.....

I'm with you guys - when will it quit raining and warm up so I can till and plant? I snuck the peas in the one day it was dry and we had sun, but it's been nothing but rain and cold since. My potatoes should be here and it's time to get them and so many more things in the ground!

You shopping at Aldi's tonight, Neil? I here they put in a big skylight. Glad you weren't in it's path. I hadn'd heard there was one in Ft Recovery.

Took down the big steel framework for J&Ms new 200' X 500' building. Moved a 3' steel I beam 200' and dropped it on some 12' tall hopper wagons.
Our Menards rep said the only thing ouside the building that was not moved were the bags of gravel and brick pavers. I slept through it all.

Didn't Buckeye Chuck and Puxatawny Phil say it was going to be an early spring?? So much for that...

We were able to get the onions in and they seem to be doing fine. Everything else is patiently waiting for spring to get here!

I did get my early gardening in just hours before it started raining. 10 day forecast calls for rain this weekend and most of next week. I'm now worried about seed rot with these cold temps and wer weather.

As for my meaties, they do seem to be doing fine. I'm not really worried about the cold, but we have had some very high winds. I had to rope down the meaty tractor to keep it from blowing over.

I sure regret getting meat bird early this yr. We usually get them in the summer, but then I end up running fans for them. With our crappy, cold and wet weather, I have had to put two heat lamps up because they were piling so much. So much for cutting costs. At least the folks in southern OH are 20 degrees warmer than we are.

I am ready to move south.

How old are your meaties? Mine have been outdoors for the last 3 weeks, with no heat lamps (they went out at 5 weeks). So far growth looks good, with the plan being to butcher this Monday (I may let a few live a few more weeks, just out of curiosity as to how big they will get). But I am central/western Ohio, and you are up on the northern border (and near water/lake effect). So I imagine you could be colder than us.

We did get a nice day of (chilly) sunshine yesterday, but now its back to cold/windy rain.
