OK 19 weeks and still NO EGGS!!! GRRRR! **EDIT**(We HAVE EGGS NOW!!!!)

Sometimes with heavier breeds like that it takes a while longer. My Orps are 7 months and just recently started laying. How much daylight are you getting now? Sometimes you have to set up artificial light to get them going.

My Buff O just laid her second egg this week at 20 weeks old. The others SLW's and EE's aren't showing any signs of laying. Patience.

I'm with you, my 14 girls were 19 weeks old on Monday and nothing yet. At this point, I'm not holding my breath. I've resorted to the fact that I might not get any for at least another month or two.

I have nine.... all 21 weeks old, 3 GLW's, 3 RIR's, 3 EE's. When I made the decision not to artificially extend their daylight I knew I might be postponing egglaying.

I have myself convinced that I'm letting the girls "mature" naturally and that they'll start laying when they're ready

But, dang, it's frustrating! LOL, my neighbor has taken pity on me and gives me about a dozen of her layer's eggs a week. I'd sure like to see something in the nest boxes besides golf balls though!

I have 26/27 week olds that are slackers.

Last of my hens started laying last week. took 32 weeks just about.. luckily I had 2 that started laying at the 25-26 week range so it kinda helped pass the time for the other 2 slackers.

My BR's started laying at 20 weeks, in August. I think the winter will slow them all down - new layers and experienced layers. My older white leghorn started laying at 16w 3d in July, but my newer white leghorns didn't start till the end of November, about 20 weeks old.

So give her time, she'll get with it. If you're in more of a hurry, supplement her light.

Go buy a couple dozen eggs from the store. Tomorrow they will lay their first egg. This worked for my father-in-law.

Hi,

I'm sure you have nothing to worry about at this point. I am waiting for 10 hens to begin laying, ranging in age from 19 weeks to 21 weeks. So far, one 19 week old RIR laid her first egg today!

Nothing yet from the rest, even the older ones. I think it is just a matter of time! Good luck! Genie
