Was it lemon blue? Splash? I saw it on another post today. Silly me- never realized one of my banties- that is a chronic egg layer-is birchen. I also have a buff banty cochin #2 roo. #2 as in- he's never the "daddy", but......

Probably the post about lemon blue.

Start with a birchen. Replace silver with gold and you have brown red. Then replace black with blue and you have lemon blue. It doesn't make any difference which gene you replace first.

See you've been sitting there with the birchen I'm looking for all this time and using it for nothing LOL.

I have either a blue/red or lemon blue, or a demelanized black with red and I'm trying to work toward what they call Lemon Blue. And as Sonoran helpfully pointed out, that's the way to do it.

But I have to wait on getting what I am sure is birchen, or brown red, or lemon blue stock before I can take the next step. However, everything is down for shipping for summer. So I get to wait til fall. If you want to see the male I'm working off of, I'll repost.

I'm enamored of his coloration but not his type so I have a LOT of work to do. But it's fun, they're little, adorable and they don't eat much...
