Ok. Debate time.

I have no answer to your dilemma, but I have a similar situation. :idunno

The problem, as Louise was quickly finding out, is that flying "runs out" when you're not used to flying distances. She wasn't able to keep herself in the air and eventually ended up crash landing into a bush. The neighbor scooped her up and brought her back to me.

Louie seemed to have this problem. Not so Huey and Dewey. They fly for several minutes extremely high in the air, beyond gunshot range easily. They easily cover miles in one stretch. I can’t come close to following them in the truck. They can also fly with precision. There is a 6-8 inch gap in the top of their enclosure that Huey managed to fly right through. They also can land from full flight in an apple barrel of water. These are reasons I don’t want to trim their wings. They really are quite skilled at flight, and it’s breath-taking to watch.
