So I have a coop that has a wire bottom with about half inch square holes and I was wondering if this is ok for the chicks to be living on (they have been in ther for about a week now since I purchased them). There is some wood underneath to keep predators away and there is a roosting stick in there that they can stand on. I guess what I'm really wondering is if they absolutely need bedding.

P.S. I have been observing them a lot and their feet are not getting stuck in the holes.

I would be worried about their little feet getting stuck. But you say that isn't an issue. Do they have a heat source to keep them warm. I know it is warm here now but nights are to cold for chicks. If they do they should be fine. Good luck with them and welcome to BYC.
