You need better pictures in the light from the side on the Splash and with some reference to size. Since you are in the UK, some of the options may be different since over on your side of the pond, there are some additional varieties we don't have here in the US.
The first one, I don't have an opinion on.
The second does look sort of like an Orp, but more info needed.

There's no way that first one is a birchen marans... I'd say mutt.

The second could be a splash orp. But like someone else said, you're on the other side of the pond, and I'm not familiar with what breeds/colors the UK does/doesn't have.
