so you are one of those enabler type people lol -- well I am planning on setting a few of my mutt chickens when the duckies are done in there. They will be a mix of my Black Dutch banty roo and my full sized EE's - so this should be fun to see what they look like.
I am really hopeing that out of the 3 eggs that have great veins - that at least 1 or 2 are females but I guess I have to get them out of the egg before I start worring about what sex they are LOL
when I saw the veins in them I have to admit it was the coolest looking thing - like looking into another little world. everytime I look in there I cant believe I really am trying my hand at hatching, but I guess everyone feels like that when you set eggs for the first time, I am not so scared now to do it again ,now I am worried about the next 22 days and making sure they hatch and there are no problems.
Ok I candled again last night - I have 2 with blood rings I went ahead and removed them and I opened them up the yokes were gooey and runny and they smelled slightly funky
- one of them I can see nice veins and even saw alittle movement so I am pleased with that one, egg number 4 I saw veins and I thought I saw movement - but it could have been wishful thinking so it went back in the bator - egg number 5 I saw a dark mass on one side of the egg - could not really see alot of veins and the other side of the egg had a pretty good sized aircell, my question is this- Does the dark mass mean that egg is no good - should I give it alittle longer and candled again on day 14?
