Ok I think I'm the crazy one of the group

I love to sit in the yard and hear my roosters crow. It's funny that one of mine will crow then one of the neighbors will crow, one of mine then another neighbors. I love to listen to roosters crow. My little EE that I ordered in July is trying to crow and it's so funny.

I read where it bothers a lot of people but to me it's a lovely sound.

A couple of years after we moved where we live now a neighbor called me worried. I didn't have chickens then. She was worried something was wrong because it was 4pm and she heard a rooster crow and she thought roosters only crowed at 6am. I tried not to laugh but explained to her they crowed all times of the day. She thought the world was about to come to an end.

So call me the crazy one.

I can honestly say that I miss Slifer's crowing. It's such a natural happy sound like the chickadees, the blue jays and robins.

I have about 10 roosters...waite...maybe 11....LOL. When they all get going....its a Concert! I LOVE IT! Crow babies crow!! Sing to me!

I agree.....When my bantam crows i cant help but smile. I'm so proud of him

I love to here my 3 taking turns crowing.

I wasn't real fond of 1 of them crowing at 1 a.m. though.
Never figured out what his deal was but he quit after about 15 min.

I like it too. I noticed my rooster communicating with a few other roosters down the road. I didn't realize it at first, but on a quiet day when the wind wasn't blowing hard I could hear the other roosters in the area taking turns with mine at crowing. I think it's cool.

DH and I was talking about the different pitch of the roos....here is what we came up with...

Ruby ( main roo in the RIR coop) BIG old COCKADOODLE DOO!!

Mr C...( second in command in the RIR coop) Not so proud, but a cockadoodledoo)

Ben...our Rescued Polish....very "city like cockadoodle doo wooo wooo"

Biggun.....my tiny little Banty Cochin Frizzle....maybe 1 pound... " I can crow toooooo"
I swear, thats what it sounds like he is saying..I just giggle every time he crows. Thats why we named him Biggun....so he doesnt get a complex! LOL

Magic.... Cuckoo Maran....One sylable...ROOOOOOOOO, what a screach!! UGH!

My Buff orps.... Gin..gettin his cockadoodledoo...Scotch...just 2 sylables...He is so funny...DOODLEDOO!
I could listen to them all day....and I can tell ya by the sound, which ones are crowing...
DH says I need to " get out more" LOL
