Hi I'm Sue. I've been reading from the BYC forum for about a month now. I've benefited so much from the collective! I've built and incubator based on the home made incubators on the site, and have my fingers crossed for a hatch by the end of this week. Actually, I'm going bonkers right now 'cause no one in my family has ever had a chicken or seen one hatch. We are majorly excited! Thanks to all the enthusiasts here!

We have been there, each and every one of us. I can remember my first hatch of wild game eggs that we collected from a wild hen that we tried to catch cuase she was in some hay on the ground. We rushed to the local feed store and got a styrofoam incubator and hatched out 6 babies. I still have the roo and three of the hens.

I have named the roo "Mr. Roo" and the one hen "wild mom". She has 5 babies right now herself. Mr. roo contributed to three of the buggers for sure.

It really is a cool thing, these chickens.
