I have been reading the site for a while now and decided to finally join
so heres the start to the coop LOL
(reclaimed wood)

the build will be off the cuff and use a dog run for the run area..

Welcome to BYC. If you plan to use a dog kennel for the run, I suggest you line the inside perimeter with 1/2" hardware cloth from ground to about 18" upward. This will prevent raccoons and other preds from reaching in and biting off any body part they can snag. Chickens usually sit against the wire and don't seem to notice what is happening. A cover is good to keep out hawks, climbers, and keep your birds from flying out.
