. But I keep 2 golf balls in the box I have 2 boxes as I have 4 hens and they lay in one box and I've never had a problem with the golf balls they seem to like and lay where there is something but tend to push the balls out right before laying....

NOW if i could get the lil witches to lay again I'll be a happy momma because after eating fresh eggs i've determined store bought to be disgusting and anemic tasting so the Moral of this story is patience is a virtue....one I don't have much luck with either...take up beading or something keeps you occupied for a little bit lol

Hello. First of all I only have 1 feeder. It is a 5 gallon bucket with a 3 gallon tub on the bottom. I can pour almost 3lbs of feed in the trough and about 20 give/take of feed in the bucket. It fits 17 chickens when they are all crowded around it. But yesterday I poured 14 cups in the feeder and they had quite a bit left. So I poured my regular 7lbs in there today and they didn't pay no attention.

And I got these on march 17th 2010 as 2 day old chickens.

I am feeding them Dumor layer pellets that you get at TSC

And as the feathers, yes before I cleaned their house out there was alot of feathers. I figured it was a small molt too but didn't think they would molt that early.
