I have the locking latches for it putting them on this weekend, I have thought about warping and put 2 good coats of gloss urethane on it. I do have 3/8" x 3/16 weather seal on it now, and with no leaks.

Sure you can change the size of the top Candler holder, I bought a smaller reducer to add for Quail, and a larger one for turkey eggs. they just screw right into the existing one, easy peeezy.

mmmmmmmmm, what can I say,mmmmmmmmmmm
You did an awesome job, it will be interesting to see how it works for you, keep us informed.
May you have,
Happy Hatch'en

I have had 41 eggs in there for about 3 days now, and all seems great holding temps and humidity very well once I got it just right. To be honest it seems to be working better than I could have thought, very very stable. I am kind of stoked over it's performance and feel like it should hatch well.

I got everything I need to build a cabinet bator.
I using a full size double cabinets I think I will put a board in the middle and have two heated areas. That way I could hatch is one side and use the other when they hatched. So would I need two different hot water control, two computer fans,40 watt lights, etc?

This R-13 foil insulation works fantastic, the temp & humidity do not even fluctuate when the door is open for awhile. I chose this material for not only insulating properies but it is much easier to clean and disinfect than any wood product.

Do you mean a incubator on one side and a brooder on the other. Or a incubator on one side and a hatcher on the other. I thought of that and have some ideas that may reduce ease of use and materials.

There is a much more detailed account of the build and a total materials list and cost breakdown on my homepage.

visit incubator section of my homepage for more details.

I read your webpage, my only thought was what if you flipped the cabinet upside down and put the drawer on the bottom. You would have to reset the drawer guides but that would leave your nasties on the bottom of the cabinet instead of falling through to the turner and other eggs.

ORRRR if you added a second layer to that drawer and left the bottom where you could add a drip pan to catch droppings etc from the screen. I don't know just thoughts for Model #2!

Still such a totally awesome looking cabinet. I agree much more stylish than the sportsmans!
