I thought it was this at one point.... but was told its almost unheard of for baby chicks to get this its normally laying chicks or mating roosters. also its not contagious from what i have read and the one that died had no symptoms for a while then last week started getting the pasted diarrhea not blocked it was too runny to stick around his butt. then he died and I don't think vent gleet is fatal. I did use ACV for a week in the water and probiotics bathed in epsom salt didn't seem to do anything and dabbed iodine on the vent of the leakiest one.Now I am reading and guessing here! I am not a vet nor do I have any training. I think maybe someone can tell you if this makes sense or you can read and compare some of the things I have found.

I think this sounds more like the symptoms you have described but you should look for yourself.

all that said its the only symptom that has an actual leaky butt from what i am finding.
