Ok! One Flap Or Two What Is It?

I got a male and 2 female toulouse from Metzers and they were banded as to their sex. One that was banded as a female is the largest and has 2 lobes and the other 2 only have one. They are only 3 months old and now I don't remember which one is the male of the other 2. She was the biggest one when I received them is the only reason I know that she is a female. I wondered if maybe she was a little older than the others. Other than their size they all look alike to me.

so the largest of my brown chinese has two flaps, and they don't match... the right is much smaller than the left. it (he? maybe) is about 6 months.
just wondering if its got any meaning in particular (other than just not evenly made).

and should brown chinese even have lobes? or should they have keels?

I heard the best ways to sex geese is their honks and their necks. If I remember right males have longer slimmer necks and a high pitched honk. Plus males are usually larger.

I believe what you are calling lobes is referred to as "Paunches" and I have read they are prominent is females, and that seems to follow suit with mine. My ganders really don't have them, my greatest layer and the momma took two seasons to get them. Her cousin took only one season to develop them. I suspect her daughters will have them before long.
