These chicks are just over six weeks old. I'm thinking out of the five left I have maybe two hens and three roos. I think they are roo's because they look to have large combs that are more red than the others they are also developing more. Also they are starting to challenge each other, not sure they would do that at this early age but what do you think? I might keep one Roo others will have to go.. the ones I hatched out this month are too early to tell. I hope I'm not surrounded by Roo's..

Blue Maran I think hen and roo??

Blk Maran roo?

if the combs are reddish at 6 weeks probably a roo, the blues looks like a hen and roo, on the black and white chickens, lighter colored heads are roos, even as a chick, the black and white chickens with extra large white spot on head are roos.

The bottom one is definitely a roo but doesn't look like a Marans to me. It has barring but a cuckoo Marans cockerel would have more white with more distinct barring even at that age, and the Black Coppers shouldn't have any barring. Could be a mix.

I know one of the Marans is a mix the other I was told was a pure bred Cuckoo Maran but I was also told it was a girl..

I'm a beyond newbie when it comes to chicken breeds. I only see white tips on the end of two of the feathers on the one that is almost solid black it does have some brown tones to it's feathers. It's hard to get it on camera.

Here's a better pic of them.. they are not ones to stay still hard to get a clear shot.. ;p

Pure bred Cuckoo Maran? in front known hybrid in back
