Ok so i am interested in getting some chicks

Hmmm... You might be able to make the case that your chickens are your pets, as they are saying that you can keep a pet rabbit. You probably want to be really clear about this so that you don't get chickens and then find out you have to get rid of them. That can be heartbreaking.

On the other hand, in my town, we are now able to have chickens because a young person petitioned the city council to be able to keep chickens and now we have an ordinance that allows us to have 4 in town. It took a while to get the ordinance passed, but it's pretty cool that a kid started it!

One thing to note: the quiet breeds you mentioned might not like the hot FL weather. You could try bantams, or just give them plenty of shade. I convinced my dad to let me get chicks partly by the water-dripping-on-stone method (not recommended!) and I made a PowerPoint presentation on the many benefits of chickens. You might try that, but different things work for different parents. Good luck and have fun!!! You will love the chicks, and if you have little siblings they will too!

Edit: I forgot to say

which ones do you think would get too hot? I would put them in the shade anyway, i just want to be as safe as possible

Well as chicken are very adaptable they'd prob. be fine but in general the large fowl and especially the very large like Brahma, Jersey Giants, Buff Orps and giant Cochins do not like heat as they are very huge and feathers trap heat.
