I posted previously about my little one week old call duckling itching. I have figured out it's his eye that is bothering him and it's watery and red. Today he had some mucus. What could be the problem? and please if anyone knows what I can do for it?? THANKS!!!!

there are some pet store antibiotics you can get, but I would at least call a Vet and see what they say. They may be able to give you a little better idea what your little guy has.

Ok, something i can help a little bit with. I get excited when i can help someone, cause i've been getting help non stop from everyone on here and i appreciate it. Anyway, my call ducks are a week old today, four of them. Two of them have no problems, but two of them don't clean themselves as well as the other two. I put a tupperware dish in the cage with them so they can swim and stop making a mess with thier drinking water. Well i noticed that two of them go under water and then preen themselves. The other two don't go under and preen, they had messy eyes for half a day. I figured out that if i put them in the kitchen sink with a good three or four inches of water,(just enough so thier feet can touch bottom if they get tiered) i keep sprinkling water over thier heads until they finally go under the water. I think they need to swim to keep thier eyes clean even at that age. I was realy worried about thier eyes until i did that, now they are nice and clear again. Yours may be worse by the sounds of it, but thats what i did. Someone else might come on and tell you something different. Hope she gets better, good luck...

Hi sunket77 i had the same thing i had a hatch of muscoys that didnt have around the clock water and some of them got this problem what i have done in the past is mix a very small amount of salt in water and wash out the eye twice a day and that seams to help.
