ok w/out heat lamp?

I seperated my two meanie RIR roo chicks from the rest, but I only have 2 heat lamps, so they don't have one. Do they really need it? They are inside and we keep the house at 70 degrees.

If they're less than 8 weeks, yes, they do. You can use a regular bulb/lamp...just be careful!!

when we had our chicks in the house, we didn't use a heat lamp either.. as there were only 4 of them, we cut a whole in the box and placed the bulb of a small table lamp through it and it worked perfectly

hmm... well what we use now is a 60 watt bulb. It was 100 watts but they got too hot so I switched to 60.

that should work, if not, just distance the bulb a little more from the box
