Ok, Who else watches 50 ducks in a Hot tub on Youtube?

so, could you do it yourself? Or drain the abscess...I have to admit though, I'm not sure on the whole story, just thus post, so I could be way off base.

She lost a foot to frostbite last year and now the bone on her stump has become infected, swollen and abscessed. It's not a matter of draining the wound at this point. Even Mat's vet said he needs to put her down.

Mrs. Gimp did not lose her foot...it curled up behind the leg and she's walking on the joint....go watch some of the older videos when the original ducks were babies you see how curled back it is. but i do think she needs put down she not living a good life though i know its very hard on Mat to do it.

The frostbitten muscovy was culled. I watched that video to see what is involved in culling and butchering.

Mrs. Gimp needed a shoe or something at birth to fix that foot. As KuroKisune said it was curled under and back causing her to walk on her joint for a year now. It is now swollen and infected looking and probably time to say goodbye to her.

I used to sub to his vids but they're hard to watch now. He has a lot of ducks & not enough help on the farm to take care of them all [as well as I personally feel they should be cared for]. I just don't like seeing animals suffer for long, even it's just 'one or two' here & there. When he finally discovered some older drakes had frostbite damage, upwards of 6 months later, that was too much. I unsubbed.

I also suspect some have Niacin deficiencies, due to the leg swelling/body issues & many of the chicks not making it to hatch. Though I can understand not all incubators are made perfect - I don't think that's the only problem for his hatch issues. I & others have tried mentioning this to him in the past, but he seems not interested in the responses.

Still, though I don't watch his vids anymore, I def wish him the best with his ducks. I think that he does do a lot of hard work, just maybe he needs to make a few adjustments so that his ducks can live happier/healthier lives.^^

Yeah...now his geese have angel wing because geese shouldn't have 24/7 access to pellets like ducks can, and he's giving them cheaper feed which has resulted in egg production dropping to practically 0. I understand being busy, but there's just no excuse, it's not that hard to give proper feed and catch a goose to wrap their wings with. I'm kinda upset at him right now. And just think what would have happened if ALL his eggs had hatched instead of the fraction that did!

I agree about the egg issue, too - that incubator was pretty shoddy, but I know for a fact that he feeds his ducks chicken feed. He claims that the iams people assure him that there's just as much niacin in it as duck feed, but I don't trust them for a second, and a little extra won't hurt them. But he doesn't add it. Brewer's yeast is cheap, but he still just won't do it.

I don't think he has any intention of wrapping G00se Lee. In today's video it's jutting out even worse than last week. He said he can't catch him, but...they sleep in an enclosed barn. You have a catching net. You can figure something out, dide.

Now I know that angel wing is mostly a cosmetic for non-flying domestic fowl, but still. It just seems cruel to me.

I recently took two drakes from someone and one of them had angel wing on one side. It did not look comfortable watching him with it. I'd imagine it would be similar to having your hands all twisted up from RA, and saying "it's just a cosmetic flaw, it won't kill you"

I'm just going off of what the vet said. And Metzer farms. It is nothing at all like rheumatoid arthritis.
