Is there any kind of duck that would be happy to hang out in my converted tennis court/ now garden? I have three preformed small ponds they could splash in. My kids and I would love to have a duck or two! Is there a breed that does not fly? Can you tell that I know nothing about ducks????!!!!

The ducks I had were runner ducks. They are so cute and they grow fairly fast. Always get two ducks, they like to lie down together and one would be lonely and make even more noise than they already do. Ducks are a hoot.

Do Muscovy ducks fly? I was hoping to find a "ground duck" that could have the tennis court / garden to play in. Messy would be okay.

clip their wings,,,takes like 2 minutes

Think twice before putting ducks in a garden pond. I had two rouens in my garden koi pond and they ate ALL the water plants and the water got so dirty I couldn't see the fish and it was stinky!

I'm all for ducks, but just a heads-up. We don't keep ducks on our garden pond anymore.

If you do, make sure you have an awesome filtration system and you stay on top of cleaning.

How big are the ponds?

Our pond is 5X10 and was barely big enough for the two halfgrown rouens. If I were to put ducks back on my pond, I would get some Call Ducks, which are small, and clip their wings or buy them pinioned.
