I finally found someone who will take our rooster and he is just up the road from us

However, I have no idea how I will "get him". I have a pet carrier, but how do I trick him in it? Or maybe I should just throw a big tote around him, slide a board under it and flip him upside down???? He's not very friendly if you can tell!

I welcome ideas or ways on how to do it!

Thank you!!

At night here too

Unless he needs to be caught during the day then my daughter can catch any one of our seventy or so chickens without any chasing or food treats. I have no idea how she does but she seems to make a kind of kissing/lip smacking sound and they don't run away from her. Maybe they know shes too small to be hiding the machete behind her back

I use a fishing net. Funny now - when I come out they all come running. when they see the net they all run away!

Short of that - he will be easy to grab off the perch at night - won't run etc.

If you are afraid to get too close - use a large pillowcase or other large breathable bag (not a plastic garbage bag!) & throw it over his head.

I back them in a corner with my arms spread and then grab them fast. Immediately tuck them under your arm to pin the wings!
