i realize i was confused with my last batch of eggs, as it was my very first time incubating. And very disappointed that none hatched.

My second batch of silkie eggs were due to hatch tomorrow (i thought). But one egg has a hole in it, a beak is sticking out, and it's chirping.

Now, can i be reasonably sure that this egg is really pipping? :->

Thanks! The poor little thing is working so hard. Hasn't made a lot of progress, just keeps making that hole bigger bit by bit. i don't think i'm going to sleep a wink tonight.

i have a still air incubator, temp is 100.5 and humidity is about 80%. i hope that is good. i'm a little concerned that it has been since about 9am this morning and she's only made a small hole.

Here is our very first little hatchling, born just about 30 minutes ago.

Just about to fall down and sleep on the bed in the incubating room. Decided to check on the miracle baby once more, and low and behold i see another egg pipping. This is so great!

Great job. I would say you are so proud. Congrats. I was thinking about starting to incabate this winter to keep myself occupied but I am affraid I wont have the proper amout of time to tend to them. Still considering though. Congrats again!!!
