Bought 2 bags of Grit today for my 6 chicks...I have been doing alot of research...so the chicken eats the grit, and it stores in their gizzard..so do they only need this once in their lifetime? How much do they need? When do I give it to them, I estimate them at 5-6wks old.

THANKS EVERYONE!

your chick starter feed will have grit implemented in it already.. If you feed them treats like greens, or meal worms, (things along that line..)give them a little grit. (is it the grit just for chicks?) make sure the grit is low in calcium,or calcium free. too much calcium is hard on a chicks kidney's
