Okay so tell me again why I shouldn't get Java

So I could have green peafowl without heat here right? We don't get much wind, and the coldest it gets is 20deg and sometimes 10deg but these temps don't last long. Is it still ideal to have an indoor area for them just encase?

Java Greens do tend to be more aggressive then the other varieties of peacocks..We had some and a friend had 3 pair as well and they all were fairly aggressive towards men. They live longer though than the other peacocks seemed too. I know several pairs that have lived 15+ years, which is pretty amazing!

I have IB that have live 20 + years. most peafowl live past 15 years.......except the charcoals.

What about girls? Do they only tend to attack just men since the peacock is more worried about other males than females? I always wondered about that...

I'm not sure why they tend to be more aggressive towards males....we've raised thousands of birds over the years and it seemed that peacock, swans and turkey males all tend to be the most aggressive of all the species..I think it probably has to be some sort of territorial instinct within the males...like dogs! Except for when the hens have nests, then there is aggression but that's really it..

as far as charcoals not living as long, I'm not sure! We always had a bit of a struggle with our white peacocks living a long time but they seem to be pretty flighty like the javas as well.
