Okay so what do I do here... Nest eggs still hatching despite mom barely on!

Maybe peel off a bit of the shell.?
There is an article on ByC about assisted hatch. That might help.
Maybbbbeeeee

I'm.hesitant because a lot of my incubator hatches will pip then rest a really long time before zip

The circumstances for the chicks in the eggs may not have been ideal to grow. Weak chicks have a hard time to hatch.
I didn't think about them being weak...

I will report back soon

If they don't hatch tonight, should I put them back under her?

If she's already imprinted on Tillys chicks what will she do for these??

Stressssssss
I wouldn’t try to give the eggs to Tilly again. She already choose not to care for the eggs and her mindset is obvious to nurse the other chicks.

I barely have experience with assisted hatch. Mabe it is better to wait a bit longer before you intervene. I would try to find /tag a few people who have more expertise.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too

They have only just pipped about 5 hours ago so I'm going to give them the 24 hours they need before any assistance. That's what the article said so I'm sticking to it!

So just swung by the Bator for a check - I have a little flashlight I shine in there bc I can't see anything..

One is starting to zip and one rocked like crazy when I shone the light on it lol

So still signs of life!

Very happy to see that. I talked to them a bit and will be excited to see what changes in the morning 😍 crossing fingers

woke up early this morning to two babies - and the egg that hadn't pipped at all was one of them! :O

the blue egg (Harriet's lol) hasn't done anything, but I will leave it alone for now. It still has time

I am still *blown* away these hatched for reallllll. She hasn't sat on them for 2 weeks, basically.

But yeah, North Carolina piedmont weatherrrrrr:th

Seriously. Just a thought, but maybe she didn't sit on them during the day because it was so hot and some instinct said it wasn't necessary? We're looking at a heat wave the next week with highs in the mid to upper 90's, lows in the 70's, heat indices however (the "feels like") are due to be well over 100°. Summer with a vengeance.

Yes, I absolutely think this - she would come in occasionally and sit on them, but *rarely* and when Tilly was sitting (her chicks are just a little over 2 weeks old) she would lift herself up off them to cool them off.

These seriously are the coolest birds, love em!
