Okay trying again...

After going from a pullet to a roo, from a "mix colored, it will grow out" barred rock, to what about a pheonix, to a I'm pretty sure it's a leghorn to no one has a clue... what do you think?

He came with a mixed bunch from a hatchery, so I wouldn't expect a mixed breed, but I'm sure it happens to the best of us!

Silver Laced Wyandotte Rooster. Not sure about the comb in the wyandotte issue- but any way it's silver laced SOMETHING!

It looks hatchery stock silver laced Wyandotte. However, my hatchery birds come with combs like that sometimes instead of the rose comb. But the color is magnificent on my hatchery birds. It could be something else because my Wyandottes have shorter legs than what yours appears to have. I only have young roos right now though and they have long legs. My adult hens are short legged and thick across the chest.

Colour is silver laced. It's not a Wyandotte because it has a single comb.
Apparently some hatcheries sell "Wyandottes" that come with either rose or single combs or so I've read on this site. That said, the rose comb is a defining breed characteristic of the Wyandotte.
I have known of some breeders trying to perfect a colour variety by cross breeding Rocks & Wyandottes. As a result they get assorted combs. Maybe that's the case here.

Rose comb can lower fertility in males with a double dose of the gene, so I have heard that wyandotte breeders often keep birds with only one copy of the gene, which would mean that occasionally single combed birds would pop up. Since hatcheries breed for quantity rather than quality, I would expect this to be somewhat common in hatchery birds.

I guess when I think of a Wyandotte I think of the bantam wyandottes with the soft rump and short stature... so I guess I didn't consider that.

I'm thinking I agree with the laced rock, but I'll definitely look some more on the breed!! But again the legs and such do look like the silver laced wyandottes is the photos above... I'm going to check out both breeds!
