Around here animal control gives you phone numbers and price lists to several local gun shops. If the problem is wildlife, sometimes they even bring out their own shotgun to get rid of the problem varmint and the traps they use are NOT this cute little humane traps everyone seems to endorse. While I do not endorse drowning, it is an option that I am not adverse to if need be. Pump pellet guns or a sharpened stick will do the trick. The main thing is to not be woosy about it and get it done. When it comes to a coon, those little buggers can be absolutely vicious and if the only thing between me and it was a knife, I'm gonna find a big stick. Heck, even bludgeon the thing to death with a baseball bat.
Those that think that all forms of wildlife needs to be relocated or "given a new home" need to seriously reconsider their thought processes. It's cruel, it's torture, yadda yadda yadda. It is also a source of meat, both in the varmint and the varmint prey. I'm going to protect my meat and maybe get another meal in the process.
