Okay what would you do with this pest

Drowning is actually not that bad of a way to go. Just the first few seconds when you start panicking. My son does some trapping and he will hit them over the head to knock them out then just tie a rock fast to them. They never feel a thing... Except for when you hit them.

I know what I would do with a coon! If you drowned them be sure your trap is strong to hold them.

It is very quick. As for the rest...as someone else said... child PLEASE!

What part of drowning is quick? The several minutes of struggling to get air before losing consciousness? Or the several minutes after that before the brain stops functioning and the heart stops beating from the lack of oxygen? The definition of quick is fast, or instantaneous, such as with a bullet to the brain.

The part where you chewed their head off while still alive by pulling it through the wire. Oh wait...

Seriously though, death is death. As someone who watched both my father and my mother expire from illness 30 years apart, there just aren't any pretty, painless, and dignified deaths. For that, better check the Disney Channel. I don't enjoy killing any live creature, but it must be done sometimes. To object because they might experience panic or some other uncomfortable feeling is naive. Go with what you are comfortable with, but please don't object to another person's opinion unless you are prepared to have the same.

With a high powered pellet rifle as Murrmade had said. 1000 fps or higher would do the trick. Also, use hollowpoint pellets for point blank shots. It will do more damage. For longer distance I would suggest a pellet with great penetration for a raccoon. They are tough animals. I love using pellet rifles due to how quiet they are. Great for urban areas.

when I cannot use a firearm to dispatch a predator I just throw a conibear body grip trap over the preds head I use the brand belisle, I have a "walking stick/wading staff "that helps place the trap accurately

Walton County (GA) animal control will NOT (they emphatically tell me) take any wild critters, especially possum, raccoon. They will, however, loan you for free with deposit, a really grand heavy duty trap cage. They will take the cats and dogs, but nothing else - it's up to me to deal with them.

So far, just egg-stealing cat last year. Good luck to all of you.
