Grenada, Ms
Just loaded 109 Bob eggs (50 GG's & 59 Northerns) in the LG, and closed the lid at 8:00. My first attempt of 120 (very expensive) GG's failed on day 15 due to Mother Nature's plans to send a thunderstorm through, and take out the power for 12 hrs. (Picture a 50 year old man trying not to cry

) ............... Oh well, we'll see what's in store for this batch. All moral support is welcomed!!!

Well good luck, I'm getting ready to do a big batch. I weighed cost vs. loss and went to best buy and bought a good UPS just like you use for a computer system. It should hold power for eight hours easily running a light bulb and a small fan. So if the power goes out, I'll still be cooking.

............... Thanks. I "THINK" I've got everything under control, but that's what I thought last time. It's just one of those freak things that's not expected.

But, I'm not givin' up ............... gonna keep on 'till I see some feathers movin' around in this bator ....

Good luck.. hope you get a great result this time.

I have just put my second lot of eggs into the hatcher...only 5 eggs... So I would love them all to hatch- I actually forgot about them being due as I have to get used to the quciker incubation in comparison to duck eggs. Popped them in the hatcher tonight- but they are due tomorrow..

Best of luck on your hatch

We have had two power outtages long enough for me to freak out and haul out the big generator for the incubator and brooder lights. My poor husband now knows, incubator first, then brooder, then family~LOL We live in a non-remote, but still OUT area and were without power for 17 days in Feb 2009 after a massive ice storm, so we're a little more prepared now
