Okiechick57's Incubator Adventure

Ya. The wiggler shouldn't take more than an hour, or so, to come to temp, especially
since the air temp was so warm.

Is that thermometer oral or rectal? make sure it's in the proper end of the wiggler.

Okie if you can get to a pet store pick up a Flukers brand digital thermometer and hydrometer combo. It will be in the reptile section. I have two of them and they work wonderful for temps and humidity.

This post from speckledhen was VERY helpful in making sure my hydrometers were reading correctly.

When I was regulating mine I had in my incubator two water wigglers w/ probes, 5 thermometers two cheapy hydrometers, and the two digital Fluker brand combs.

You are so luck that you have PC I am flying by the seat of my pants working on this here. Good luck you can do it if I can!!!

Good post WP.

I had big problems with my flukers but I didn't have wigglers yet either.

Look at all the readings. The $5 analog thermometer was correct. Who knows
about humidity. Those meters had over an hour to settle there.

True PC I was having a hard time with my Flukers reading different as well. The test speckledhen posted helped out alot to figure out the true reading of them.

I have also been tempted to go to our local cigar shop and pick up a hydrometer for a cigar humidor. They are a bit pricy but they read very true.
