I'm talking to Michael about sex links... going to laying only, over pretty. I liked pretty, don't get me wrong, but the sheer amount of eggs we go through versus our available space means that I need to suck it up and go for quantity over the Columbian wyandotte beauty that I've wanted this year. LOL

Does anyone here raise any leghorns? I have a small flock of white leghorns and absolutely love them. I would realty like to start raising some of the different color variations of them but would preferably get my birds from someone fairly local.

Wow! already Wed this week is flying by I've been so busy since the Sale Saturday, I had a blast it was nicke to meet JCat and DH along with BFrances I hope I spelled that right LOL I did all right on my pruchaces I didn't have anything that had to be fed, housed or watered befor sleep for a change LOL I never seem to have the kind of money within reach that I would need to buy everything I want LOL I did get a good feeder and a nice fan, Sunday I went and traded the pair of Rouens for two male Pot Bellied Pig I would have guessed the weight at just under 50Lbs I got my neighbor to help set the cage inside the pig where the sow has been for a week now and let them out on the ground they walked right to the fence and promply slipped right out into the jungle and rooted around for a while while we put up a smalle mesh in a panic and then just vanished so next morning I tried again to get them put up and failed, I strung all the fence I had to channel them to the door but no such luck and I had to go to work so rather than let the dogs get them durning the day I put one in the fridge and after work couldn't find the other one and then I was trying to finish some new feeders for the goats and here comes the pig walking up the middle of the street I tried for a while to gt him to corral up somewhere but he wasn't having any part of any of it SO,,, I reunited him with him brother and I can sense a BBQ coming in the not too distance future. SO that being confessed now would anyone have or know of where I can get a male PB Piggy? LOL I Promise to not have to butcher the next one

How is little Red doing?

She looks very good I'm taking that to mean she is quite happy and well adjusted to her new surroundings? She was always kinda aloof and acted better than her brothers LOL Her Mom was the same way so she gets her Royalty naturally LOL

Sold the rest of my MFCs last year, then lost of my three big girls in a cold snap. They were already stressed (I think they may have had some respiratory junk) and I woke up one morning and they were all gone

I need to figure out how to put a roof on a dog run (10x10x6 chain link) so I can get more chickens. J bought himself a Rottie puppy (she's 8 months old now) so I want something out there I can depend on to keep the dogs out. Future chickens will have their coop inside the chain link run.

I'm hoping I make sense. I'm waiting for dinner to be delivered... I'm cheating when it comes to feeding the kids tonight. I really don't want to cook. LOL

Hi Faerielady,
we need to get together. The city demanded I get rid of our flock, and we are doing so currently. Won't be too long before we have enough privacy to begin with another small batch though. Privacy fences - gotta love them! anyhow, my brother put a roof on our big dog run (which used to be our chicken run) and it wasn't too expensive and it holds up to OK weather! If you are interested, PM me and I'll send you photos or we can visit. We are in NE OKC near Edmond.
