Wanted to update on the no till food plot seeds from Tractor Supply. One thing that we did different than the directions said was to go back over it with a tiller real shallow the day after we had broadcast the seed and raked them in, the wild birds we having a salad bar on the seed, the tilling seemed to take care of that. It is starting to come up, looks like it germinated pretty well. The grain might not be easy to see in the pics, but it looks like it will grow well. Got 1/3 of the garden planted with it, wil be interesting to see how it comes along. And to see how much it will decrease the winter feed bill. This was planted this week on tuesday.

I went to tractor supply and the only thing I found was a 25 lb bag that was $50.00 and it didn't mention anything about no till?

That's still only $2 a lb...much cheaper than buying and mixing your own. Because it is winter seed, you can store part of the bag in the freezer until next year. Even though seed is considered "no till", we usually mix the seed with sand, broadcast it and then rake it in to cover the seed and water it down. The wild birds are really hungry now because the forage grasses have been too dry to put out seed.

What is everyone doing today who isn't at a sale or at Green Country? Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Sure was nice outside this morning. I made a mess in the barn shop over the past many weeks working on those two new coops so I spent some of the morning out sweeping out the concrete floor and neatening up the chicken storage area. My neck started saying "ouch" about halfway through so I had to stop for a while and watch the

out catching those chill-slowed grasshoppers in the lot. The boys went to feed at the leases so I had the morning to myself.
We have a granddaughter's soccor game this afternoon.
And kickoff for OU is at 7 pm on channel 5 so hamburgers for dinner and

for the game.
