***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hooray! I've gotten 2 eggs a day the past few days from the 2 LF Cochin girls I got from Carl. Then I got 2 Partridge LF Cochins from Robin Saturday and 1 of them already had an egg for me this morning

And it was a honkin' jumbo-sized egg! Even the 2 Doves laid eggs. I'm back in the "egg bit'ness"!

Started a new batch of dehydrated seasoned okra and while I was working on it got an idea for my next batch. The next batch I do I am going to coat in BBQ sauce then dehrydrate.

I forgot to say what a nice bunch of chicken people you Okie BYCers are. I felt right at home. I"m not much of a talker, but I enjoyed the day. Poco Pollo - Loved the chicken hat! Boy there were sure some pretty birds there, too. It was real hard not to bring more of them home. My husband really liked the golden bantam Asil pair that I brought home. I hope they like it at our place. I'm a real hands on chicken lover. So far they are just very indifferent to all of the handling. For now I've put them in my bantam barn in a pen at eye level, so they can get used to me. Later they will go to their own nice chicken tractor. They sure are different than the other bantams I have... OEGB, cochins, and d'uccles. Sizewise and looks and all. Anyway, again, I enjoyed the day. Lots of nice folks.

Still running tests on MIL. She is going in for an MRI of the upper back to see what's going on with the shoulderblade...
Apparently no blood clot which is good news.
She had xrays and a catscan of the gut and kidneys last night because she has been having trouble with her kidneys and pain meds are not always kidney friendly. She is in great spirits. Appreciate all the good wishes and prayers.

I took a break from pulling weeds and moved Hazaa, the rooster I bought at the Green Country Poultry Swap, into an outdoor pen so he could stretch his legs and wings. He's as big as a turkey. His quarantine pen is good sized, but with as much rooster as he is, I'm sure it feels cramped.

Hazaa has a massive wing span. He doesn't have spurs yet, so I'm guessing he's still got a bit of growing to do.
