Hook em horns. Welcome aboard. When I get all moved I wont be to far from you. I will be just north of Clinton.
I don't have an actual recipe. I take the okra pod and slice it like you would if you were going to fry it, season it w/ savory spicey seasonings of your choice (I have used garlic powder and black pepper w/ a cajun mixed and also w/ a oriental spicey mix seasoning) place them in the dehydrator and dehydrate until crispy. They turn out very crunchy like fried okra, but no fat or cholesterol or added carbs (breading). This is my first time doing it, I was just trying to find a way to eat it that I would eat.

I have never had dehydrated okra. Do you use it dried or re hydrate it ?
I have been eating them like chips, all crunchy and spicey, but if you like them cooked in gumbo or sauce it would certainly work for that. ( and they would already be seasoned) I don't know if they would fry up right after rehydration

bfrances- I bought your EE roo, and he is in heaven. I have twelve EE hens of different colors, and had two younger cockerels of diff colors, and he went right in and fit right in. Not a sign of fighting, which was nice. One of my younger cockerels named Bard had already lost a round of fights with another roo. I liked Bard better, so he got to stay. The other one is now seperated, so it was nice how your young roo just fit right in. I like the EEs even though folks call them mutts, because you can have all different colors to look at, but still get the nice big blue eggs. They are calm birds and easy on the eye.
Sandy - Fanatical Chicken Lady from Arkansas, but an original Okie, and still an Okie at heart!
thank you for coming out you had some nice bantam buff cochins and i love the color on the blue OEGB thanks it was nice to meet you
Now I wish we could have come even more. We are looking for a buff pullet from bloodlines that aren't local.

I still have a couple of nice pullets, and one pair of the parent stock that were a year old in April. I'll probably be coming to other events later on.
I want to sell down before winter. If you knew anyone coming towards Fort Smith, we could do a chicken train.
MIL is doing fine this evening. Finally went for her MRI at 7 pm...results tomorrow. The nurse was teasing her about having men in and out of her room last night (she has three sons and some nephews) and that the other patients were jealous of her party. Told her she would bring the stretch-limo chair around to pick her up.
Grandson got to play in the fb game tonight even though they lost.
Coyote has been coming up to eat the fallen pears so I threw them over the fence to the cows....won't he be surprised in the morning.
Carl and Steph...we are up to six eggs this week so far and I'll have you a jalepeno pepper plant potted in the morning. What day should we arrange an egg pickup?

What works best for you? I set eggs every wednesday but with everything going on over there I can wait till next week if that works better for you.

We didn't go to the hospital until after 2 pm so we are good either morning...Tuesday or Wednesday.
