What works best for you? I set eggs every wednesday but with everything going on over there I can wait till next week if that works better for you.

We didn't go to the hospital until after 2 pm so we are good either morning...Tuesday or Wednesday.

if you don't mind we will run out there after steph gets the boys off to school. So before 10 in morning ok?

thought i had a couple girls but they waited to go to ksanes house and broke her heart by crowing...sigh.... still not sure on the black one but the other 3 are boys, banty size, cochin and nn...

Hi Robin,

Your NN boys are as cute as can be. I only need hens, though, and standard at that. Hazaa is enormous, so any hens I put him with will have to have some bulk to them. He has his eye on the white rock hens in another quarantine pen in the barn, but after picking them up and holding Hazaa, I think he outweighs them four-to-one. He's turkey sized.

Put him over some nice Black Giant hens. You'll get about a 50/50 split and get awesome babies. And yes he will get that docile once he settles in good. Through the years we have had NN roosters get as large as 15 pounds and I have never had one go after me or anyone else for that matter.

Oh and I forgot to add. I've also never had a NN rooster hurt any hens while breeding, even a very large one over a bantam hen. Even a six pound hen can disappear under a big rooster like that. The secret to it is that the rooster straddles the hens instead of standing on the backs as with other breeds.

Hello peeps!

It's been awhile since I last had a chance to check in so I thought I'd drop by and say a quick hello and see how everyone is doing...

Been really busy around here and now that my DH has broken his right hand, my work load is even busier!

Anyway, I successfully hatched 21 guineas and have 18 that survived to adult hood so I think I am doing pretty good with them, but does anyone have any tips on what's best to feed them?

Also, I am looking for some Australorps if anyone has some or knows of some?

Thanks!
