it is called a V comb but i think it looks more like antlers on a deer LOL

the comb does look like antlers...do you think they are relative of the shy jackalope? lol! You have some good looking birds!
I forgot to ask, do they have an issue with frost bite? Do you have to anything special for getting ready for winter?

Been pulling up fence all day and now have the aches and pains that let me know I have over done it again. I tell you all one thing I would never wish an autoimmune disease or arthritis on anyone! Just hoping and praying it doesn't set off a full blown flare, don't like taking steroids, especially in massive doses. Praying my hurt ankle will get straightened out too the whole top of my foot is turning black! Anyway, we are really loving our new chickens Robin and they are giving us some pretty brown eggs. My girls are so excited, set straight to candeling them to see if we would be having some new chicks...lol

Great looking birds Joe! That sussex bantam is comming along great! The sumatras were some of the best I've seen in a while. Nice black skin on face. A lot of them around have to much red showing. But they were all great. No wonder that boy got so many ribbons!I was like bfrancis when I looked at them,I thought,"boy I hope they don't get frostbite with those combs"! May have to do a lot of vasolineing this winter! Good to see you back on here.

Michael I figured she did the camo thing,I was just giveing her a hard time about it. Sure wish my daughter was into the outdoors as much as she is.

Come on NaNa you gotta get some bantams and give them a try. They will steal your heart!lol

I had a very looooooooooong night/early morning at work, and just going cold turkey on the caffine so I have been pretty useless today. I have lots to do tomorrow, mostly w/ the garden. Harvesting, watering, freezing and dehydrating produce (I have a whole tree of pears I need to do something with too). I also want to do some reading on the parasite info sjarvis was kind enough to share.
