What are moderns?

Modern Game bantam. a very long legged game bantam, most are very calm, docile, easily handled. But the legs are prone to freezing due to length and such tight body feather.

Thanks!

No moveable pens. If I fog with it (that's spraying it around the air, right?) would I need to make sure I had probiotics on hand 1st? And what exactly ARE probiotics? Yogurt? Or a powder I mix with their water or food?

The probitics are simply a source of good bacteria for the digestive system. Misting teh birds and spraying the pens will not require that you have probiotics on hand, only after adding to teh water which will flush the birds digestive tract of all bacteria and virus. Yogurt is a good source of pro-bitics.

For your non-movable pens spray the sides, clean teh litter from teh floor and spray the floor or ground if it is open ground you may want to rake it a bit to open up the soil better.

you will find this is very usefull around dogs as well since Oxine is one of few things that will actually kill teh Parvo virus. as well as ring worm fungus and other wonderfull stuff.

I don't think I have ever taken a picture of them when doing it! The girls aren't near as funny as the male.....I will see what I can do but my camera may not catch the movement very well.

But the L & S in "L-S 50" stands for lincomycin-spectinomycin-so you're right-that's what they use and that's what mine are on now. It's powder I'm mixing in the water. The other Cochin babies (14 wks now) still look and act so good and the Silkies (16 wks) are all acting good. My little Cochin pullet I've had to the vet 3 times probably won't make it another 12 hrs, same with my daughter's pet cockeral. I've wracked my brain trying to figure out the best way to deal with this. I've got big round pans with bleach and water that I step in before I go into each chicken's area. The Cochin babies are completely isolated in their pen but they always have been. I'm raking up every speck of poop in their pen all the time and am going to continually spray down with Oxine in there, their coop, change shavings in their coop every day if I have to. He said to be prepared because I was going to lose more. But I'm hoping he's wrong.
What makes me just sick is the Cochin pen really is isolated and the most protected one. *I* brought this crap into their pen on my shoes. That's hard to swallow.

Thanks, St-arl-that's you all's name since I'm never sure who I'm talking to:)
I've raked and raked in there basically scraping up the top layer, filling a barrel with it and then throwing all the dirt away in the dumpster. I'm going to add 1/2 ton of play sand to it anyway, I just hadn't gotten around to it yet. It's just as well. I've got the fresh shavings and I'll have their coop & run all ready to soak down.
