***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Thanks for the info, sjarvis. I'm not having any issues; just want to keep things in better condition for the birds. How often do you spray at those ratios? And would it be the same for a mister as for a spray?

Leesh... patience. Make the dog lay down a bring a chicken for it to smell. Do not approve of any hyper or bad behavior around the chickens. Teach them as young as you can. It makes a difference.

I will have to look up the fogging ratios. But if your birds are health and you are fogging them just as a peventative measure then no more than once every 6 weeks.

Is this regular oxine or do you have the activation crystals. If you are activating the oxine it cannot be used around the birds. You spray, fog, or whatever... Allow to clear or dry then place the birds back in the area.

Mitzi and all the experts.... What about spectam? I think named for the ingredient spectinomycin

Says it aids in control of mortality and to lessen severity of infections caused my many things including e. Coli

Woke this morning to dh coming in from hunting. He said didn't even see anything, by anything NO animals moving through the woods or pasture at all. Think they are all snuggling in a warm spot.

Once I rolled out of bed I hear chirping from the incubator. The guinea eggs I bought @ auction started hatching. So move them to the hatcher & told them they were not suppose to hatch until Saturday, so they need to slow down!

Now I have to scramble to get the birds moved around. I have last wks chicks still in the house, so they have to go to the chicken shed & these guineas need a clean box, and the works set up for them. Didn't plan on doing any of that until Saturday. Only one more hatch after this. Imagine I will sanitize everything & start back up in Feb -- unless the seabrights start laying, if so we might hatch sooner.

I have citric acid that I had used to make my own dough conditioner, it is food grade. Is that any different than the citric acid crystals??? Thinking fogging my chicken shed I use for my brooding might not be a bad ideal, for after each batch of birds is moved out.

I think I have found it, thanks everyone. Now if I can just find a good price! LOL

I put the moderns together yesterday so I can start collecting eggs from them when they start to lay. They will be the only thing that I will be hatching. I hate having babies in the winter.
