***OKIES in the BYC III ***

With my iPhone I use the photobucket ap. that is what I find easiest. Should work well with the iPad also.

I am about to start another day of cooking. Our church has thanksgiving dinner forthr community tonight. They said they usually serve about 150. Considering the population here is only 500 I think that is pretty significant.

We are suppose to go to the rock & worship road show in OKC tomorrow night, but my kids were very grumpy today... I might be canceling that concert.

Then Friday I have thanksgiving dinner @ the kids school. By the time thanksgiving gets here I will be sick of turkey & all the fixings!! I am already sick of Christmas music.... I really don't understand why Christmas music gets played for 2 months... 2 wks is more than enough for me.

Watched the weather report at noon, they haven't changed their minds so I guess I'll go pick all my green tomatoes this afternoon.

Castile soaps (all vegetable): Lemon Verbena, Rosemary EO w/ground rosemary, Lemon Cucumber,
Recipes with lard included: Lavendar/Patchouli, Vanilla/Palmarosa, Poison Ivy soother (Tea tree, lemon oil, Aloe Vera), Citris Honey Oatmeal

Today I'm making Butcher's Blend (which helps to remove cooking odors...it has grit in it like the old LAVA soap) and Tropical Cooler: has coconut milk and Aloe Vera juice.

Those sound wonderful. I like the idea of the butchers blend. On the oatmeal do you grind it down to an almost power or leave it chunky? I am thinking of doing soemthing simular for my grandmother.

Sure is windy and cold today. Even with a hood on it's tough to get anything done outside. I fired the first round of tree ornaments last night. The kiln temperature is still over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, so I don't dare peek at the ornaments. A rapid temperature change will ruin the glaze, and I don't have time for many do-overs. Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner. Maybe by tonight the kiln will be cool enough to unload.

Robin - So sorry to hear you need to rehome your geese. We already know how your gander feels about me, so there's no use me even considering adding the pair to my flock. They sure are handsome birds.

Wish everyone wasn't so spread out through the state. Would be nice to be able to get together teach others interested & barter our hobbies & skills, like canning, gardening, soap, sewing& ceramics.

I have done cinnamon oatmeal soap once -- think we ground most of the oatmeal but left a little whole more for looks. I purchase honey oatmeal soap @ the farmers market & she sprinkles whole oatmeal on top of the soap. It looks really nice! I buy it from Two peacock farms... Think 3/$12 & it is awesome soap. She makes it much nicer than I do, so I prefer to spend an extra few dollars & buy it! Soap making can be an expensive hobby to make lots of scents & such. I am sure nana has a small fortune in soap making supplies.
