***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Heidi, some of the others may know of some bird auctions. I've not been to one yet as I don't trust myself. That's how I acquired all my bottle lambs 8 & 9 yrs ago. And bottle goats....a bottle calf....and sick colts.....nope, I can't be trusted. I tell ya though-if I want anything specific I go straight to Michael Daugherty on this board.
Rebecca, you're so generous offering dinner for everyone. I was telling Michael I try so hard to be kind like he is because he really is an inspiration to me. I've been through so much in my life like everyone else, and over the years I feel like I've become so jaded and cynical. I keep trying to be more like him and people like you. And Robin-she's such a genuinely nice person also. And NanaKat-need I say more?? She's wonderful.
Also (long explaination alert) -like I told you, Rebecca, I originally planned to put my 2 LF Cochin hens that I from Carl & Stephanie in with the LF Cochins I hatched last July. I'll do anything to avoid losing those babies I hatched so I built the remaining 7 Cochin hatchlings separate pens in the back yard because of the one in 10,000 chance they might be carriers and might have lowered immune systems because of the e. coli outbreak. So. That does leave me with 2 beautiful healthy and huge Blue LF Cochin hens that I'm not going to be putting with the other Cochins after all. Carl can be more specific as to their breeding quality but I do know they're gorgeous and judging from his other birds I'm sure they're great quality. These 2 have been in with the laying hens and never been in with any of the babies who got sick, no one in their yard has ever been sick. So anyway-you're welcome to them if you'd like. I don't breed and I don't show, they may as well go to you or someone else who wants to breed &/or show them. So let me know, Rebecca or anyone else.
Robin, I meant to tell you-the black Cochin bantam I got from you is the coolest color of black-wow. She's black with a green and purple sheen on her-it's striking. Is that how blacks commonly show up? If that's the case, it's very pretty. Her and the other 2 bantam Cochins (the blue and red) have gotten their full winter coats and they've really gotten super pretty and fluffy.
My little Silkied Serama boy was hanging out on his "rooftop deck" this morning watching me. Lovin' this boy, seriously. He's on my lap at the moment and sticks his head up my t-shirt sleeve and snugggles in. Do any of the others Seramas do that? It's hilarious. He snuggles up and rubs his head against my arm inside my shirt sleeve. What a little hoot

As little time as he spends in his cage I'm re-thinking spending the money to get him a wooden rabbit hutch. He's got a tiny diaper now that fits (it humiliates him lol) and between wearing that, the grate in his cage, the paper on his "rooftop deck"......I'm just not seeing a problem with poo. He's most certainly my sweet tiny baby. Ok, I'll shut up.

Apparently it is local. I have to keep nitro on hand for my tachycardia...so under the tongue it goes when that flairs.
I love my doctor too for suggesting it. I keep a firstaid kit in the fridge in the barn and keep nitro in it.

Oh yea-and today's our 23rd wedding anniversary. How can it seem like yesterday and feel like 100 yrs ago at the same time??

It didn't turn out last time?

It turned out awesome, just seeing if I can make it even better. I was really wanting it a little creamier, or less watery stuff in it and I LOVE tapioca so I was just going to experiment a little.

I was also considering making no bakes w/ some pureed bananas thinking it might taste like the bananas dipped in chocolate and peanuts.

Yummmmmm, I've had a couple different white basalmic vinegars that i like. We like Capresse - fresh sliced mozarella, basil leaves and sliced tomatoes with basalmic vinegar. Dodn't eat much of it this year though.
