well, she was a rescue chick from tsc, they gave her to me cause the other chicks had pecked her shoulder bare- so she is almost 3....

This lady got her info from her vet and a sick chicken 1st hand so I'm choosing to believe it. I'm also filling up the oyster shell bowl when I lock birds up in a little while.

Artsyrobin I hope your hen works through this. If she is still eating and does not seem to be in pain, just keep an eye on her and let her do her chicken thing. With chickens it is hard to tell what is going on with them. I have had chickens I thought were going to croak and make it and ones that appeared to be perfectly healthy drop dead in an hour. Sorry you are going through this.

Well I decided to wait for auctions etc. until after the Shawnee show. Already have a bunch of birds I am getting and I need to stay focused on the birds I need. When I go to the auctions I see really nice birds that I do not need but buy them anyway.

Tomorrow I am going to do my part to enable a friend. He is wanting to get chickens and has a building he wants surveyed to see what it needs to be turned into a coop, etc. Just helping one more person find the joy of chicken raising.

So note to anyone thinking about it. Unless you absolutely have to, like in my situation, do not get wisdom teeth pulled right before the holidays. After eating Thanksgiving food for two days my mouth is hurting something fierce. Pain medicine is not working either.

Think I will try some hot tea then go to bed.

WEll Ark lost the ball game so someone has been in very poor mood all evening!lol. Needs a ten yard penalty for unsportsmanlike behaviour!lol Had a good dinner at El Chicos and then went to petsmart and they were all out of all the guppys they had on sale! Looked at the g.pigs,no wonder mine sell good at 5-10 dollars. They are asking $34,50 for theirs and they weren't even pretty.
Guess I better head to bed so I can get up early and head out to a day away from football fans! yeah! Chicken fans are much funner to be around! Hmm,is funner a word! Must be Okie slang comming thru!lol

Layd down about dark didnt rest long had a bad dream.. I think it's just the weather i love green grass an the sunshine an cant wait tel i see the leaf's start coming back out on the tree's an the bird's singing ther song's . I love the spring so much the smell of the rain an the frog's croaking .. Last year i was down by Ardmore geting chicken's from a guy an the frog's wer croaking when you go threw the gap south over the MT. it's a lot warmer down that way ..It was 3 week's later b4 they startd hear..
Any way FEED at Atwoods chick starter was 18.56 a bag in Chickasha today man it's just crazy.. Going to stop by the chicken show in the morning an thin go to a family get to gether at Minco on the Anthony side of the family ... P.B's DH went to school with my aunt back in the day how cool is that....

Okie-do a frind of mine that was teling me about the deal on the live trap's said by the time they left Basspro an drove over all the trap's wer gone so he misd out on thim..
Talkd to Jerry from Blanchard sale he said some one had brot in a pony cart ..I plan on going to the auction at 5 you never no wat will show up til u get ther..
Lightfoot an muesky scrore big at the last sale on some good buy's..
