***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Spent the day either on the phone with the dentist or the doctor or the air conditioner repairman....Hubby popped cap and had to get it reglued and he also has to do an oxygen sleep test for an appointment next week so had to arrange those.

Then the renter called about the heater quiting. Good thing there is a secondary heat source in the house because the heat exchanger is shot and the whole unit is really old and now needs to be totally replaced.... 3.5 ton units run well over $5000 now. It's now ordered and should be replaced on Monday.

Checked on Nasty Nesty Nellie. Somehow she had lost a few eggs..she is down to 8 with one little Cochin cross baby that had died. So I moved her...kit and kabootle into the hottub room into a big long stock tank with woodshavings and a warming light. Instead of changing her nest again, I pulled out the soiled hay and placed clean right on top and let her adjust the eggs. The dead chick would have been a Blue Australorp/Cochin. It was fully developed. NNN is happier in the much quieter and warmer room. She came out to eat and drink and did her business in the wood shavings.

Hubby isn't home yet from the dentist in OKC...the dogs are fed...guess I'll go warm dinner.

Kass, so glad a rescuer was on hand for you! They need to get that dog and its owner.

Maybe a sleep study is in order for some of you. I laughed when my doctor ordered one several years ago, but went along with her, KNOWING it wouldn't show anything. To my surprise, I have a moderate, almost severe level of sleep apnea. The CPAP machine has made a big difference. I still have problems staying asleep because of my achy knees, but find that if I get up and drink a cup of warm milk, walk around a bit, then read a bit, I can get back to sleep. Another thing to try is to drink Gatorade any time you exert yourself enough to sweat. It replaces the electrolytes you've lost by the exertion. I'm doing better also as my knee heals from the knee replacement--I've actually slept all night a few nights; first time in several years--just in time to have the other one done!

Interesting that Nanakat posted a bit about an oxygen sleep test just as I was typing this. Besides not getting enough rest, sleep deprivation can be very serious if the oxygen level drops off enough; and it doesn't have to be a lot. It damages all your vital organs.

Sooner.........I used to be able to be asleep before my head hit the pillow, but alas, anymore I am up on and off allllllllllllllll night!

I try to not take anything to help with sleep because I am alone with the kids and I am afraid I won't hear them if they need me or if something happens in the house. I am lucky that I don't work out of the house, so during the day when I have to I can nap.

I have been dealing with some Insomnia lately. Haven't had that problem for a few years now but everything is so crazy at school it is finally getting to me. Hope migrains aren't next. Parts of my job I just love but..........

what are you saying the bantam leghorns are my own breeding the phoenix are my own breeding all others where hatch from eggs that i got for breeders and razed miself when have you ever seen BANTAM BUTTERCUPS at a auction ??? or bantam phoenix like that ?? not to mention that im an NPIP farm and can't just go buy birds from auctions these pics are pics of MY BIRDS so sorry if this come off a little cross but thise breeder can get his feathers rufeld
