***OKIES in the BYC III ***

so far they got stressed when i separated them, so i am going to watch them real close, they are used to me petting them throughout the day, so they haven't bit me....

Boy Robin wished you could wait till the june meet I would sure do some tradeing with you! I love both of those breeds!

Well we have strong winds and sudden showers and tornadoe warnings popping up everywhere! Going to be a long noisey night! It was really nice and balmy today. I got to free range most of the chickens. Cleaned the g.pig shed out. Sold two g. pig babys.

Worked on getting my chick order planned out. Didn't get as many as I wanted to,they are just to expensive. Only ordered 25 and with shipping they figured out to about $4.32 each! To high for hatchery chicks but they are all rare stuff. Other hatcherys were cheaper but didn't have all the breeds I wanted. I only got 5-6 of each breed. Hoping to get at least a pair to get started with. I used Sandhill.

On my iPad and of course this site doesn't work well with it so it didn't keep my multi quotes. How am I going to remember what to say??
Upcdayz, those babies are too cute!!! OMG they're adorable. And Robin, I'm so excited for you, I know how much you like babies :)
Elwood, I cannot *believe you got that trailer for $50!! What a wonderful deal and I can't wait to see it once the birds get moved in, they're going to love it.
This wind is killing me, too, Poco. Glad you got the ducks rounded up. I bet the Silkies got quite an adreneline rush out of it.
I've got 8 Silkie girls living in their Diva Pen, with no males. I thought they'd LIKE it without a roo yanking them bald and making them scream. But since every single one of them has now started laying it seems I've got 1 or 2 taking over the male role and attempting to breed the others. Jeez. I know they're all girls because they all lay (a lot!) I'm thinking of putting one of the boys in there but if I take one out of the Silkie bachelor pen he'll never get accepted back in if it doesn't pan out in the girl pen. So I might try putting the Modern pair in there and see how that goes. I don't have any plans for hatching eggs from that pen. Unless I might want to see what a Modern Bantam/Silkie cross looks like :gig

Just replaced some lines to try and improve my Internet connection, so far so good, Not really the right wire it's all I have though but it does seem better than what I had so lets try pictures

This is the travel trailer I got for $50 I am still clearing out the insides to set up for nesting and roosting then I'll set it on a floor and pull the tandem axle trailer out from beneath it so I can rebuild it

It's 22' feet long all together the box/future coop is 19' feet it's already a fun project Like I needed any more projects

Of course you need more projects, you know, idle hands and all of that.

We had a 24 foot that I had just got blocked up, tied down and was starting to clean it out. Got it tied down May 2nd, 1999.

May 4th the floor was still there. LOL It was actually the West side of a pen and the posts of the pen held the shell up enough that no birds got hurt when it rolled over. I often think that if I had not tied it down it would have just laid over and I would have been able to set it back up.

If I ever do it again I am going to go the route that you are and set it on a foundation and pull the frame. I have a little 12 footer here now that the bottom is just too far gone to do anything with but to strip it to the bare frame. It was skirted with plywood so termites pretty much ate the bottom out of it.

Okay, all the trailor talk made me dig up one of my old lofts. I made it out of a Pop up camper. Made it about 18 years ago. Gave it to a friend about 10 years ago and he still raises birds out of it. I left the wheels on so it could be moved easly. I gutted it, then divided it into 2 sections. One for mating and the other side for young birds. Wish I still had it.

Thïs has got to be the best thing I have heard today! So, did you all know that Lowes has an area where they keep " culled" lumber? My DD is a manager there and was telling me about it after I showed her a bundle of landscape timbers I got for a song.

Had a good time at Marys flea market today. Got to visit with Michael some. Got 3 nice game hens from him.

Was a bit windy, but sold a little stuff, got to see my son and his girl friend for awhile, so all in all it was a good day.

Good looking loft cowboy! The Lahores are nice too! I put those three new birds in my loft today and the extra male ran a pair of rollers off their eggs! They were cool,I just checked and she is back on them so I hope they are alright. The rollers never seen any pigeons as big as those modenas and you know the attitude the modenas have!lol I didn't get pics today but will tomorrow. The are really mixed up mismarks. I kind of like them that way tho!lol

Looks like I will be bringing geese back in june! Thanks Robin!
