if it lays eggs it is a female!

that s the easiest way i know of.

if it struts around cooing and booming/puffing it is a male. hey usually dont start that till they are ready to breed.

Trying this again...anyone?
Am I asking this in the wrong place?

Hello Okies!
Where do y'all get your chicks? I am north of Tulsa and purchased my 6 at Atwoods 7 weeks ago.
All girls but my one Polish is looking rooish.
I really want a few more Polish girls. They've had no more at Atwoods. Also none of the staff there seems to know what breed any of their chicks are.
Would like to find a few silkies too.
I've had no luck searching online for breeders around the Tulsa area.

My therapy chickens are medicinal chickens

My adorable new NN frizzles are laughter therapy. They're just so darn cute I can't stop smiling!

1 down, 7 to go on the new chicky girls pepper brought me. One has come into the coop to check out the nest boxes. I'm sure hoping all of them come in for bedtime!

There are several byc'ers in the Tulsa area, but I don't know who has polish in particular, the thread will get busier after the suppertime/ chore time and I'm sure someone will know the answer.

Hi 6chick and
welcome-byc.gif

I got some of my chicks at Atwoods too. There are many people on the Okie thread who raise chickens and they often have a listing in their signatures of what they have. I don't know of anyone who raises Polish, but there are several with Silkies. The person I know of closest to Tulsa who raises Silkies is BetsyOK - she has very nice show quality birds. As far as I know there is not an online listing of OK chicken breeders.

Hi 6Chick, I got my 4 ameracauna babies at Orsheln's Farm supply in Pryor. there's Atwoods in Claremore and Vinita, you might call those stores, there's also TSC in Pryor. Keep watching here and more posters will come on probably and someone should be able to answer you better. I don't know anything about Polish chickens yet.
