***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Morning everyone!

Looks like I have been convinced to attend the auction tonight... I am in the market... So I am going to support my addiction...

Hope to see everyone tonight...

Any Ideas of what will be there?

I look forward to see you tonight, it has been like "forever'. Missed you, Doc and Monty, something fierce.

Guy,
You had a pretty good hatch, of all the eggs, 1 NN failed to Pip and 3 KO all others are out and about looking good.

NanaKat,
You have 8 new LF Cochins in a mix of Blue Black and Splash a few of each.. 12 eggs 8 fertile, 8 hatch after shipping half way across teh US, Not bad at all.

I will pull them from teh hatcher tomorrow and give the last few another day to see they try or not.

NanaKat we may need to talk cochin.

Apparently the misty rain and muddy parking lot had folks deciding to stay home from Mary's swap this morning. I didn't get there until about 9:30 so I missed Ruzycki, but he had sold his unsold eggs to Pat Drew with the promise that I was bringing the egg cartons to put them in. I gave a dozen cartons to Pat Drew and still have a couple dozen for Ruzycki.

There were only 3 folks selling birds and one lady was selling odd brands of groceries. THAT WAS IT! I have seen more vendors and shoppers at Mary's when it was freezing cold.

Looking forward to Newcastle tonight and seeing all the BYC folks (and trying out that lasagna)

Yeah! Maribeth you coming to the auction, as well??? Cool!!!

It seems like this turkey was expecting this to be a hot-tub or something, but I agree with Kass, he does look a bit stoned. Never had a health turkey willing to just sit in a tub. Maybe it is all the tryptophan in his system. You know how turkey makes you tired after eating it. Just say'en

Here are two photos from the Coweta sale. I didn't take pictures of the adjacent barn area that was filled with cages. I wish now that I'd taken pictures of the peacocks and the big cochins that were near the back of the barn.

afternoon guys! look what they are selling at TSC now!!!

its was $12 for 20 lbs....

and the little serama's with the mite issues- i bathed them again and broke down and put frontline on them- seems that particular pair had a different mite...seemed resistant to everything but frontline, these feathers were trimmed from around her vent- i bathed them using betsy's technique of soaping them up with adams, let them sit for 5 min, rinse and bathe again then frontlined them- haven't seen anymore

and the serama babies are growing

2 Young OE cockrells left.. 1 Blue Golden Birchen Male and 1 Golden birchen male.. call if interested they need to leave and go somewhere to eat bugs and run around.. not to be used for breeder birds. the Blue has been outside for a while the other is 5-6 weeks and will need to be kept in out of teh cold for a while yet.

Hi Robin - There were two white silkie roosters at the Coweta sale. I bought the second one, thinking you might like to have him since you didn't get to keep Casper very long. Let me know if you'd like him. I paid pennies for him, so he'd be a gift. I can bring him to you next week if you'd like to have him.

Your Serama babies are getting big ... for Seramas. The hen in the photo you mentioned earlier could very well be the mother. There is another dark one similarly feathered that could be their mother also.

I put ivomec eprinex on all my Serama's yesterday. When it's not cold and rainy out I'll do the same with the LF too. Just didn't want to mess with it in this weather.

Ksane I am sure DD would love to hatch some turkeys. She thinks all eggs are ment for hatching. We could trade you some RIR or EE- she will even raise them up & provide you the pullets. She has some pretty golden seabrights that she planned to take to the next Blanchard auction. Of course I will also have an abundance of keets & seedlings too-- if you are into gardening. Counted my tomatoes last night. After I started another tray (of course). Looks like I have started over 500 tomatoes! Good thing I have plenty of space!

Rebecca has those 2 Blue LF hens I got from you last year, were those part of the breeder birds or no?
Robin, glad you got the critters off the birds, I bet they feel a ton better.
Poco, how sweet of you to bid on the Silkie boy for her :) This list is so nice.
Jcat, you don't have to trade me anything for the turk eggs, I'd only eat them otherwise and I've already got more eggs than I can eat. I've decided to stick with what I've got and both sizes of Faverolles. I love the EE's but I've already got so dang many layers and I'm the only who eats eggs. I wish I could figure out an easy way to sell all the eggs. I hate to put an ad on cragislist and have people calling all the time. When the turk girls start laying I'll let you know and save them for your daughter.
