Kass~ Can you tell me some tips on planting asparagus? We love it around here and I would love to plant some but don't know anything about planting and caring for it. Thanks, Lori

Hello everyone,
I just got back from the council meeting and everything went smoothly.
The board approved the request so now we have an "OFFICIAL" date for POOPS.
It will be Saturday, May 5 at the Choctaw Creek Park Pavilion in Choctaw.
We will be forthcoming with more details as we get things set up.
Be thinking of things that you can donate that can be used for the annual raffle.
I appreciate everyone who has offered to help and I am sure we will be able to find a place for you.
Sooner is once again heading up the Tee shirt promotion and will be helping with the food planning as well.
I will let everyone know the plans as they come together.
So chat it up on the thread about POOPS and make your plans to be there.
If you have any questions, let me know.
Thanks again,
Monty

Thought I'd find and post Buckguy20's note on the approval for the site for POOPS and the date.

Coming back from Busters place today we came thru Meeres. My wife and mother niether one ever ate there before so I took them in to get a world famous Meeres burger. LOTS of food. Any way had lots of food left so I ask for chicken bag to take leftovers home to the girls. There was lots of okra and some burger left. For some reason no Ice cream and coobler Humm. Anyway here is some of the girls pigun out of the left overs. their reveiw on the food there was thumbs up.

Oh, I'm in trouble.... y'all warned me too.... my friend that is getting the red stars for me called today. She got 75 new chicks this week that are staying in her bedroom right now, and 40 that are about 2-3 weeks older out in the coop. She wants to know if I want 10 instead of 5. Of course I said yes. I'll get some of the older ones and will pick them up this weekend.

Wait, there's more.... (drum roll please) She said she got a mystery rooster in the bunch and since it was free, she's giving him to me. She says he looks like a cochin.

She's a prime enabler, and she's not even on BYC! (yet) I'm doomed!!

Cowboy next time @ meers skip the burger. Order the rib-eye!!! When we lived in Lawton if I wanted a steak we always drove out to Meers. They bring the whole slab of beef out to our table ask me how thick I want it & they cut it. Everyone else in the place orders burgers so I always get crazy looks. Just don't ever go out there on a Saturday night. The line goes out the door & will be an hour + wait.

Anyone in the market for a bargain on rib-eyes save-a-lot has them on sale for $2.99 lb. for family pack.

i think i found where the chickens were getting sick from- stagnant puddle full of decomposing leaves??? has anyone heard of adding molasses to water to help them flush out the toxins?

went by orchlens, since mfa was out of crumble, brought home 2 little orp chicks, thought one of the broodies that had a couple day old would take them- nope - so they are under a light with this little rescue- shoulder was pecked raw, so they gave her to me, supposed to be a red star, one clerk said nh?

and the young guineas and the older bunch are working things out, this one tried to land in their tree, but isn't too good on navigation yet
