We do loose power often, but I have a batter back up surge protector that my incubator & hatcher are plugged into. And we finally have our whole house generator installed. I will give the eggs that hadn't hatched another day. Several are still making progress. DH moved the incubator & hatcher to the opposite side of the room. I am thinking he bumped something. But can't prove it!

Coral are is your power through a coop? With caddo electric we get 20-25% off our bill with the whole house generator. Hopefully that will keep us from $500 electric bills again this summer!

Nana and Coral I still on'y have the one Kid and Mama is doing fine just still looks fat to me, maybe she is just healthy and there isn't another one coming I don't know how to tell, the baby is doing well and yells like I'm killing it when I pick it up LOL

Asils are one of the proudest breed of chickens out there. They scream admire me from the first time you see them. Just let yourself go, and enjoy.

Lookie!!!! My first feather babies hatched at Carl's. We had 13 of 14 eggs hatch. We have 5 black australorps, 5 blue splash marans, and 3 golden salmon marans. They are all settling in nicely. We only have one that isn't as active and it hatched about 2 hours ago so a little behind the curve.

59 Days to POOPS

I just PMd Rebecca with my wish and it sounded like I was writing Santa with my Christmas list. POOPS is more exciting to me than Christmas.

I hate it every time I lose one. I sometimes wonder if I am cut out for chickens; me being so tender hearted and them being so vulnerable to so much. I am not giving up though - there is much more to gain than lose.

Thank you. I am not giving up. I was just upset. I feel better now that I realized I only lost one instead of all three. We are going to tighten the security around here though. I saw that hawk fly right over my house just a few days ago. I think he was stalking my big chickens trying to get up enough nerve to try for them. When it saw those babies it just couldn't help itself. Or it was some other animal. It is just odd that it was found outside the pen. I appreciate everybody letting me vent when I was upset and all the nice comments. You guys are all great people!
