***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Same here - mators blooming and everything going full blast!

So the chickens got to head out into the yard at last!! Fence is done!!! So now the last thing I need to do is take pics and prove that I have birds here!

I don't even have my tomatoes in yet, lol. I have been trying to find time to get some in but never enough hours in the day! Maybe this weekend, if I can get out in the garden, I have only been out their once this week but my peas are coming up nicely and greenbeans should be peaking out soon. It is hard to get much done when you only have about 2 hours after work to get stuff done and get ready for the next day of work. Don't know what I would do without hubby. He just asks "what needs to be done for the birds tomorrow" and it magically gets done before I get home or he helps me get it done when I get there. He is even going to do the feed run tomorrow so I don't have to do it after work.

Hope everyone enjoys the rain today, it was just starting when I left the house this morning at 6. It clearly wasn't bothering the guineas any they were already out and about in the front of the house looking for bugs bright and early.

You were right I saw them flea beetles, will the neem kill them quickly? I'll need to get some tomorrow. If I spray the area that is affected will they go to other areas of the garden?

Yes, Neem is quick death to bugs. and unless you have other plants they like, they should be done for.

I have at least one chick hatched under one of my broody hens hoping that the rest of the eggs will hatch, I only poked under her till I found the first one there could be more she wasn't liking being messed with today so gave her a break LOL I got to show off my little farm today everyone was on their best behavior except Goosey and he was in a mood I guess giving the stink eye to our guest and even biting and I never saw him do that before I guess he's starting to think of himself as a goose these days...

Sounds like Goosey is gonna be a guard bird. Daughter had a friend with a guard turkey growing up. Tom would go full feather spread any time a vehicle came in the drive and would stand at the car door making a boom sound until he was told OKAY. He was huge!!!

Got to set up another location for the newest babies hatching this week and then candle the eggs under the broodies. Loving the rain, but had to tranquilize Red because of the thunder...he kept shaking and that kept my chair rocking....had both dogs in my lap during the early morning showers. We have 1/2 inch in the rain gauge.

I wonder what makes some dogs afraid of storms while others are not........

I am enjoying the rain but would of much rather been able to go out & see the bee's this morning. Hopefully it will clear off so I can watch them when I get home.
