***OKIES in the BYC III ***

NanaKat,
Your hatch this week is coming along nicely and includes at least 3 Spangled OE.
We can candle your eggs from aubrey when you come by Friday or saturday to pick them up.

Okieridge,
Have a whole bunch for you too. I placed the Black Coppers in a different tray so they can be marked. They will be ready to pick up tomorrow.

Oh thank you!!

I can't wait to see my first BCM babies!

Nana, that's a beautiful setup! I know you guys worked really hard on it and it shows. It looks so organized and clean!
Carl, those are some awesome friends you have to do your yardwork when you couldn't. My own *family woudn't do that for me, you're SO lucky to have friends like that. You go above and beyond for others, good old fashioned karma goes a long way.
Sooner, I'd have to say that's the prettiest beehive I've ever seen. that design would work perfect for feeder insects also.
OceansEve, that sounds like too long with the ducks, but I've only read about chickens so maybe ducks are different. I know their humidity has to be crazy high in order for them to hatch.

I put pictures up on the Dark Brahama thread to see if anyone knew if I had boys or girls. 2 of them are so BIG there's no way they're girls. And since their wing colors are identical I believe I have 4 boys. I really love these Dark Brahma though and will definitely try another hatch if these are all boys.
I can't decide what to put in the incubator Monday! I may end up just trying to hatch the Silver Cochin eggs and some Faverolles from my prettiest girl, she's my favorite, she's from Mike D. and so sweet. Then again I want Dark Brahmas really bad so I may just find more Dark Brahma eggs and try again.
If this dang rain would ever STOP I need to get so much done in the yard.

Doodle I glad to hear that pretty blue chick is an Icelandic. She is a looker!

Oceans I have never tried duck eggs, heard you have to spray them with water everyday. I am sure that is because anytime momma duck gets up for food she comes back wet. I do have Storeys guide to ducks but never opened it. DH still won't let me get ducks! He saw peaches set up last weekend & I think that will help him. He is scared if I get ducks he is going to have to create them a lavish setup with a filtered pond & all.

We still have not had a drop of rain here I don't think. But the wind is crazy & it feels cold. Haven't even let the birds out yet, waiting for it to warm up a bit.

Well spent the. Night Hospital with jamie baby on the way.not doing. Good please keep us. In your. Prayers

Hoping all goes well and everyone is healthy

Yeah, I've been spraying them religiously, but the hatch dragging on scares me. I got excited when the first pip was the morning after lockdown, but this is ridiculous!

I posted in the duck forum and someone found a link that says some breeds take 36 hours to 3 days. I heard one of my young brahmas try to crow this morning

POCO - you around? How long do the swedish take for you? Or do you let broodies do the work like a smart person :)

Expect pipping around day 28. Some of my Swedish have hatched as late as day 31 or 32. Muskovey ducks take 35 days, I think, but the Swedish are on the same schedule as the Pekins.
